Coldwell Banker at the Olympic games!

Athletes from around the world have gathered in Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and Coldwell Banker is there! We are a co-sponsor of "SNOW House 2010," a hospitality suite located in the heart of the Athletes' Village. Coldwell Banker representatives, as well as our Microsoft Surface, are currently at the suite as visitors gather together to watch the games. In addition, we will run our original TV spots during the early part of the Winter Games on USA Network and CNBC with a new end treatment that drives home all of the ways consumers can search Coldwell Banker listings as well as an end card that promotes the tax credit extension.

Let’s look at the numbers for the Denver market as reported by Metrolist for the first month of 2010. Total properties closed for January were down 4.7% over last January. Average sales prices continue to increase for the fourth consecutive month. In January it was by 11.6% year-over-year. The Million dollar sales were down by only 4.3% for January and active inventory was down by 11.6%

This month’s Colorado Luxury Report found that sales of million-dollar homes in the Denver Metro Area dipped in January. But the median sale price reached $1.33 million, which was up 11 percent from a year ago. Click here to read the latest on what has been going on in this specific market in Colorado.

2010 economic summit sold out!

I would like to take a moment to congratulate each of you for sending out the February ePostcard which was the invitation to attend the 2010 Real Estate and Economic Summit being March 10 at the PPA Event Center. The response from your sphere was unprecedented and the event completely sold out in less than 72 hours! It goes to show that with your perseverance, we can succeed! After the summit, we will be providing you with an electronic, written summary of the event for you to share with your clients who weren’t able to attend. And due to the overwhelming response, next year we will be looking for larger venues in the central Denver area to told our 2011 summit!


february reality check message revealed

President Chris Mygatt has revealed the February edition of Reality Check, discussing
the upcoming federal tax credit deadline and the importance of having buyers and sellers act now before it’s too late.

As part of his message, Chris is encouraging you to share with your clients this month’s prospecting flyer that you may use to reach out to your sphere to notify them of the impending tax credit deadline. We can’t assume everyone knows nor understands the timeline associated with this deadline and the more we can spread the news, the sooner our market will enjoy a recovery.

So please, make February your opportunity to spread the word before the tax credit expires.


new Coldwell Banker commercials debut

The two new Coldwell Banker TV commercials have arrived! Earlier today, Senior Vice President of Marketing Michael Fischer has officially debuted the commercials which begin airing this week.

Through discussions throughout the Coldwell Banker network, the common request was to help the brand appear younger and “hipper,” with a bit more emphasis on the importance of our Agents. We’ll be accomplishing that as we target those actively involved in the home buying/selling process or just in the dreaming phase.

The commercials highlight the brand’s “listings any time, any place” strategy and the importance of Coldwell Banker being ranked highest among real estate companies in home seller satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Home Buyer/Seller Study.

The message sent loud and clear is that only Coldwell Banker offers award-winning Agents, along with the ability to search for listings through mobile applications and video via our Coldwell Banker On Location YouTube channel. No other brand can make these claims. It’s powerful stuff!
